Welly Care Guide - The Wide Welly Company

Welly Care Guide

Rubber is a natural product and therefore needs some TLC.

Tips for looking after your new wide and extra wide calf wellies!

  • Store them in a cool, dry area away from extreme cold, heat or sunlight
  • Always store your wellies upright, never fold or crease them
  • Rinse in lukewarm water, adding a tiny drop of washing-up liquid if they are particularly muddy
  • To remove your wellies avoid using steps, bootjacks or the toe of your other boot. This will loosen the joint at the rear of the boot, cause wither splits or the sole to be ripped away from the body of the boot
  • Dry them with a soft cloth and allow them to air dry
  • Do not place them under direct heat or in sunlight as this will damage the rubber and cause it to crack and deform
  • If the inside of your wellies gets wet, allow time for them to air dry in a cool environment (normally 24 to 48 hours). Stuffing them with newspaper is a great way to soak up excess moisture and help them maintain their shape.
  • Always remove welly socks from boots when not being worn to avoid trapping moisture inside the boot.

If you look after your boots, they’ll look after you. All of our wellington boots come with a 12-month guarantee. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us if you find you are having any problems.
